After April's trip to CHURAH VALLEY in Himachal pradesh, i went Chopta in Uttaranchal. And this time I planned the SPITI trip with a freind. Both decided to make SPITI on bike.

DAY 1

DELHI to AALOO GROUND (kullu - manali)
via Chandigarh, Ropar, Kiratpur sahib, mandi, aut, Kullu, raison .......
Manali is somthing 550 kms from Delhi. and we were supposed to reached there on the same day. thats y, we left Delhi at 400 hrs. Ripped the bike on NH 1. Road is really good. Traffic was very less in morning. We crossed the cities like Panipat, Karnal and Ambala without any hassle, else the traffic in these cities takes lot of time.
We were ripping at 100 kmph. Crossed Chandigarh before 0830 hrs.
Chandigarh traffic roules are more strict than Delhi's. crossing 60kmph is offence. I was warned again n again before leaving delhi about this thing. But luckily i didnt spot any police wala there.
crossed ROPAR and took right from Kiratpur sahib. took second break before Swarghat. uske baad, we bought bread, butter and two packets of milk and brunched near MANDI.
Roads are very good till KULLU. We went thru a 3 kms long tunnel near AUT. it was a nice experience to pass thru..... it made us to recall RANG DE BASANTI. The movie provoked me to throttle, and soon the speedo touched 100kmph again.
It was somthng 1700hrs wen we reached Kullu. We took many breaks in and around Kullu. It was around 1830 hrs when we lft KULLU. yes it was late. and dark.....
this was the mistake we cmitted. beshak the road was good, but the traffic from the oppsite direction was like hell. Their headlites wre big problem. i was jst trying to tackle the problem......Manali was jst few kms away......
A bus came in front of us......i wasnt able to see anythng bcoz of the headlites.....suddenly we fel into a big drain.....
i dnt remember wat happend after that ..... i was jst drowning in the chilld stream.....bike was over me, so cudnt even move. it was 2000 hrs, so didnt expected anybdy for help. but this was my second bike trip, when i was with a companion. N really i mean it. if i wud've been alone you wont be reading this blog.......
Yes,,,, i owe my second life to this freind ....... :-)
dnno how ... but sm more people came there and saved both of us..
we both were taken to NAGGAR in a car by a very nice local person,. Naggar is a town between KULLU n MANALI.
the place where this happend is known as Aloo ground ;-)

28, 29 sept 06,
thurs n friday
we were not in a situation to travel anymore, so decided to spend the time in beautful laps of Himalayas in Naggar.

saturday
NAGGAR to SUNDERNAGAR
Delhi was morethan 500 kms. So decided to cover the distance in 2 days. Started frm Naggar at 1200 hrs and reached Sundernagar via Aut, Bilaspur and Mandi.

:: WARNING ::
We cud've got serious injuries in our heads. Thanx to the good quality helmets. I had a STUDDS NINJA, and pillion had a VEGA. So frns always use a good helmet. esp on long rides and highways.....
Life is precious.
AVOID RIDING IN DARK esp IN MOUNTAINS..
